WhatsApp is the primary messaging app among more than one billion users around the world on the users smartphones. WhatsApp had rolled out Document sharing support, Formatting within text, End-To-End Encryption in past and now WhatsApp have rolled out the first desktop app for Windows and Mac. This could be the threat to the popular desktop messaging app, as WhatsApp comes out with its desktop app.
“The new desktop app is available for Windows 8+ and Mac OS 10.9+ and is synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device. Because the app runs natively on your desktop, you’ll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more” Says WhatsApp
Earlier WhatsApp have launched WhatsApp Web, that allows messaging from desktop browser, unlike that desktop app provides more native support like desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts and much more. Still there is no voice call support for both WhatsApp web and the native desktop app by WhatsApp. The conversation takes place by desktop app by syncing with your phone and your phone need to be connected to Internet.
Download the desktop app now. It’s login UI is identical to the WhatsApp Web interface. Open the desktop app and wait for the QR code to appear. Now Goto Settings and Tap WhatsApp Web to scan the QR code on the computer’s screen. Now, the desktop app will sync all your conversation, profile pics, images with your phone. You can logout from WhatsApp by clicking WhatsApp in the menu bar and click logout. WhatsApp is also rumored for working on video call and when it will be available is yet unknown.
