WhatsApp, which has 1.2 billion monthly users worldwide, frequently updates its app to introduce users to new features. WhatsApp have constantly evolved to bring new updates and recently they have introduced the new Snapchat-like status feature update. It has brought lots of disappointments among users by removing the Text-Based status update feature. But it has not gone the long way missing.

Recently, the old Text-Based status update feature is spotted in WhatsApp beta version of Android. Well, users can enjoy both Snapchat-style as well as the old text-based status update feature. WhatsApp new style has failed to impress lots of users, which was released last month. It didn’t take time for users to spot out the new update as a clone of Snapchat.

The old Text-Based status update feature is expected to roll out for all Android users in the upcoming weeks. This update is spotted in the version “2.17.97”, and is currently only available for download on devices with Android operating system. We cannot say that this is the new feature, because they have re-introduced the old feature back and it seems everything is at its place as before.

Well, to access this feature tap on 3 dots in the right-top corner -> Settings. Tap the profile picture. Here, you will see the new section that is “About and phone number”, tap on that section. And from here you can set the new Text-based status.
