  • Its pricey in relevant to self-hosted WordPress
  • No stats and analytics in free plan
  • It does not allow you to monetize your content*
  • You can only use the theme provided by them and does not edit .css. You can only customize the theme using premium or business plan

WordPress.org offers you a free web based software, a content management system. WordPress powers 25% of the web. It is open-source. You can also host the WordPress powered site on your local machine. But with free software there’s comes a responsibility to find and choose the hosting provider by  yourself.

  • No Automatic backups. Manual backup is required (You can use number of plugins for backup)
  • Security of website is need to be maintained

Conclusion

If you are concern about the price , wants to use the thousands of resources, want full control over the content than do for the wordpress.org. If you are a personal blogger and not concerned about the price than go for the wordpress.com. I personally recommend you to go for the wordpress.org, as you get full control over your content and no worries about account terminations for their terms and conditions violation. Earn more with org.
